Twelve students from the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences (CEAS) at the American University of Kuwait (AUK) achieved notable recognition at the Kuwait National Robotics Competition (KNRC), an event supported by the Ministry of Education and the Youth Public Authority.
Competing against teams from ten universities, AUK students won the Best Design Award and placed third in the VEX Robotics Tournament. Their performance showcased advanced skills in engineering and programming, under the guidance of Dr. Ali Roumani, Assistant Professor of Computer Science at CEAS.
The KNRC serves as a national platform where aspiring engineers design, build, and program robots to solve real-world challenges through innovation and teamwork.
Commenting on the importance of such initiatives, Dr. Ali Roumani stated:
“Computing and technology competitions like KNRC play a vital role in fostering students' creativity and innovation. They enhance technical skills such as programming, design, and engineering while also strengthening problem-solving abilities. Moreover, these competitions promote teamwork, leadership, and communication skills, which are essential for professional success.”
This achievement reflects the students’ dedication and excellence, reaffirming AUK’s standing as a hub for applied science and engineering education in Kuwait.
