AUK participated in the 'Library 3.0' forum, an event organized by Kuwait Library and Information Association and hosted at the National Library of Kuwait. The forum brought together representatives from both the public and private sectors to explore the evolving role of libraries in a rapidly changing information landscape.
Over three days, experts and specialists discussed the challenges and opportunities facing the fields of information management, including libraries, archives, publishing houses and research organizations.
Director of the Library at AUK, Ms. Asma Al Kanan, showcased during one of the sessions the innovative ways libraries worldwide are integrating AI and other technological tools to enhance their services. She also addressed critical concerns surrounding privacy, ethics, intellectual property and access costs, emphasizing the importance of balancing innovation with responsibility. Her recommendations for building library capacities and infrastructure provided a roadmap for ensuring that users can effectively and sensibly leverage these tools.
